What People Said Afterwards
Collected from follow-up calls and emails. We have included the ones where nothing was bought, because those are the sessions that best describe how this place operates.
The Set They Were Ready to Replace
I had a quote for a new set sitting on my kitchen counter. Marcus measured what I had, found five clubs more than two degrees flat, bent them, and put fresh grips on. Cost me about a tenth of the quote and my scores dropped anyway. He never once mentioned the new set.
Nobody had ever explained to me that lie angle was a thing that could be measured rather than guessed. Watching the scrape line on the board straighten out after the bend was genuinely the most useful hour I have spent on my golf game.
My set was assembled over about six years from three different sources. The audit found the frequency progression was all over the place. Two shafts got replaced, the rest stayed, and the set finally feels like a set.
I brought in a hand-me-down set from my father expecting to be told to bin them. They measured everything, corrected the lies, cut a half inch off, and handed them back. Renata told me the heads had another decade in them.
Sessions That Started With the Tape
The impact tape sounds like something from 1985 until you see your own pattern. Mine was almost entirely toward the heel. Trimming the shaft an inch fixed more of it than any driver I have bought in ten years.
I went in wanting to buy a new driver and came out with a different shaft in the head I already owned. He showed me the numbers side by side, told me the head was fine, and saved me four hundred dollars. That is not a normal sales experience.
I could never get a three-wood off the deck. Turned out the sole was too narrow for how steeply I come into it. Swapped to a five-wood with a wider sole and it goes further than the three ever did.
The gapping chart was the eye-opener. I had three clubs covering the same forty yards and a seventy-yard hole below my driver. One hybrid fixed the whole thing.
Wedges, Putters, and Worn Grooves
Ford put my sand wedge under the magnifier and showed me grooves that had basically gone flat. I had been blaming my technique for two seasons. One new wedge and the ball started checking again.
My putter was two inches too long and I had no idea. They cut it, bent the lie, added a degree of loft, and the ball actually rolls now instead of hopping off the face. Same putter I have had for seven years.
I asked whether I needed four wedges. Ford said three, showed me why on the gapping chart, and talked me out of the fourth. I have never had a fitter argue me down before.
My hands are not what they were and I mentioned it in passing. They put oversize grips with an extra wrap of tape on the whole set and it made an enormous difference to how long I can play comfortably.
The Tune-Up Programme
They called me in March to say my annual check was due. Four clubs had drifted over the winter, mostly from mat practice. Forty-five minutes and it was sorted.
Having the original card on file meant we could see exactly what had moved and by how much. No guessing, no starting over.
I dropped the bag off on a Friday morning and picked it up that afternoon fully regripped. No appointment, no fuss, and the price was exactly what the website said.
